Winning the Fall Prevention Battle: Analyzing the Fall Event/Critical Steps After a Fall (for AHCA Associations)

This 8-week series running February-March 2022 guides the interdisciplinary team through the elements of an effective falls prevention program. This session will cover effective management of a fall event, post-fall assessment standards, and effective analysis of fall incidents to identify root causes and develop an appropriate responsive action plan to avoid similar falls in the future. Best practices related to fall scene investigation, conducting post-fall huddles and team meetings, and applying root cause analysis will be reviewed. Documentation and communication expectations following fall events will be discussed, as well as considerations for QA monitoring activities.
